COACHING AFTER EVERY POINT DURING A MATCH IN A TOURNAMENT

The ITTF approved a new rule which allows coaching of players after each point during a match in a sanctioned tournament. The USATT also voted to accept this new rule. It has both defenders and those who openly disagree with this new approach to coaching. It is way too early to determine how this rule may change the sport of Table Tennis.Â
I suspect there will be some heated discussion about this issue as it is implemented. There are so many opportunities for this to go very badly with abuse by a few coaches. We shall soon see if it has a positive or negative effect or any impact at all.
